Yes, that’s our question today … what is CAI Next?
CAI graduates have apparently been asking, “What’s next?” says Michael Avery, the National Auctioneers Association Director of Education.
“Those who have completed their three years of training (CAI I, CAI II and CAI III) and earned their designations have been asking, ‘What’s next?'” and NAA’s answer is just that: CAI Next.
We wrote about the CAI program here:http://mikebrandlyauctioneer.wordpress.com/2010/08/26/the-certified-auctioneer-institute/
… which involves three (3) years of one-week education, special projects and a final report for auctioneers to earn the CAI designation.
CAI Next is based upon three (3) broad themes, with each building on the prior:
YOU and your personal success. Each participant is given a 20-minute self assessment and receives immediate feedback on their top five strengths. Participants then discover how they can leverage those strengths.
What your customers want. Participants team up to develop a marketing plan which is presented to colleagues and members of the Kelley School of Business.
Surviving and thriving in today’s tumultuous marketplace. All participants learn about key characteristics of great leaders, and couple those principles with today’s methods of communication and interaction.
Professor Ann Bastianelli has taught at CAI Next.
Per the National Auctioneers Association, her career highlights include marketing campaign triumphs for many of the world’s most popular companies and brands, including Kellogg’s Raisin Bran’s 2 Scoops of Raisins, The Talking Parkay Margarine tub, Leggo My Eggo Waffles, McDonald’s Happy Meals, and Dow Bathroom Cleaner’s Scrubbing Bubbles.
For the past ten years, Ann has taught Marketing at Indiana University. See here a video as Ann talks about the CAI Next program:
The Chairman of the NAA’s CAI Committee, Marc Geyer, CAI, AARE, BAS, CES, Phoenix, said,“The program will provide advanced continuing education. It offers an opportunity for CAI designees to continue their CAI journey, and connect again with former classmates.”
We probably couldn’t say it any better; only to add … the CAI Next program is not offered each year. It was offered in 2011 and 2012 and is scheduled to be offered again in 2016.
