The NAA: The Auction Advocate

The National Auctioneers Association (NAA) has launched a podcast (first appearing yesterday, September 28, 2020) — https://auctionadvocate.buzzsprout.com/. On the podcast, NAA notes the following:

The Auction Advocate, the podcast where we’re all in, is produced by the National Auctioneers Association in order to further knowledge and discussion on relevant topics for auction industry professionals.

The initial podcast posted was titled, “5 Things You Can Do Right Now to Improve your SEO with Garry Grant, SEO, Inc.“ Garry was interviewed by the very talented Erin Shipps and gave great advice to improve your search engine optimization — in other words, being found (on the first page of Google results) on the Internet.

We previously wrote about NAA’s new blog (September 21, 2020) here: https://mikebrandlyauctioneer.wordpress.com/2020/09/22/the-naa-how-auctions-work/. We also wrote prior about SEO with an overview of webinars, podcasts, videos and blogs here: https://mikebrandlyauctioneer.wordpress.com/2020/04/03/auctioneers-and-electronic-content-webinars-podcasts-video-blogs/.

As we noted prior:

Podcasts (also known as on-demand webinars) are recorded audio (and sometimes video) where there is no interaction with others during the creation. Then, the podcast can be listened to on computers and other electronic devices at the consumers’ convenience.

Convenience is the central benefit of podcasts. One can listen to podcasts while doing other things, including driving. Podcasts also require no interaction by the listener and can be stopped, started, moved ahead, and/or “rewound” at will.

Much like many occupations, the barrier to entry for most auctioneers is not great. The more every auctioneer endeavors to improve themselves by reading, watching, listening, etc. the better educated the entire industry will become.

The highest caliber education for auctioneers comes from the National Auctioneers Association. Their Conference and Show, periodic seminars, Designation Academy, and especially the Certified Auctioneers Institute provides auctioneers unparalleled educational and networking opportunities.

The “Auction Advocate” podcast is yet another educational tool for the public as well as all auctioneers. We invite you and anyone interested in auctions to partake in all the forthcoming content.
