The National Auctioneers Association (NAA) has held its annual Conference & Show (C&S) every year with its first gathering in Roanoke, Virginia in 1950. This year’s C&S was scheduled to be in San Deigo, California, and will instead be held virtually due to the pandemic.
For three days — July 14-16, 2020 live interaction — and until the end of the year recorded content will be available — to members for $312 and non-members for $520. Complete pricing details are here: https://www.auctioneers.org/CS2020/Registration/register-for-conference/CS2020/Registration/register-for-conference.aspx.
Each day begins at 9:30 am with a noteworthy keynote speaker:
Tuesday, July 14: Mark Polon, CCIM, Future Casting, What’s Next?
Wednesday, July 15: Justine Rapp Farrell, Ph.D., Understanding and Influencing the Modern-Day Consumer
Thursday, July 16: Hank Clemons, Ph.D., Leading with Emotional Intelligence
A number of other classes will be offered regarding contract auctioneer work, real estate, benefit auctions, personal and commercial assets, and marketing and management as well as some social and business gatherings.
There is also the election of two board of director candidates (from 5: Kathy J. Baber, CAI, Trisha A. Brauer, CAI, BAS, Philip R. Gableman, CAI, AMM, GPPA, Brigitte Kruse, CES, GPPA, Penny Worley, CAI) and one candidate (Beth Rose, CAI, AARE, AMM) for Vice President. Winners will be announced at the annual business meeting on July 16.
I would offer that the NAA is entering the most important year of its 70+ years of existence with membership and diversity acceptance challenges as well as lingering pandemic concerns. Your participation and your votes make a real difference.
